Product Description
The plant is designed for the production of polymer metal multilayer material. The specification outlined below is a guide that the vacuum equipment contractor may integrate with his standard methods of design and fabrication to minimize customization and cost. Major design elements in this chamber will include the following:
- The system is designed based on a 1.6m metallizing zone web system.
- The plant process is performed on a rotating drum by depositing 1000s of metal and polymer layers. In order to set the thickness of the metal layer, a short length of PET web is first run through the system to measure and set the OD of the metal layer and uniformity across the 1.6m deposition zone. Once this is done the boat box shutter is closed, the PET film is fully wound (no film on the drum), the polymer deposition is initiated on the drum and the shutter is re-opened.
- The diameterof the process drum is 1.2m, to facilitate the plant process and various equipment that is placed around the drum.
- The system has four vacuum separation zones.
- The web system and the process drum is placed on a cart that move out of the chamber along with the OD monitor. The zone separation sheet metal partitions will stay in the chamber.
